Diplomatic Relations Between Mauritius and Moscow

Mauritius and Russia established diplomatic relations on 17 March 1968. The Mauritius Embassy in Moscow was opened in August 2003.

The relations between Mauritius and the Russian Federation have grown steadily over the years encompassing several sectors: There has been a general increase in the number of Russian tourists; Mauritius has obtained market access for the export of fishery products to the territories of the Eurasian Customs; Mauritius and Russia signed a visa waiver agreement on 23 December 2015; and a number of Mauritian students choose Russia to pursue their tertiary studies. Mauritius and Russia also have regular political consultations between their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs.



Former Ambassadors of the Republic of Mauritius to the Russian Federation:

• H.E. Mr Mahendr Dosieah presented his Letters of Credence on 25 July 2006.
• H.E. Mr. Maheswarsingh Khemloliva presented his Letters of Credence on 26 November 2015.
• H.E. Dr. Kheswar Jankee, G.O.S.K., presented his Letters of Credence on 18 May 2021.
